Elisha Cuthbert Hates Flying

24 star Elisha Cuthbert is so terrified of flying she has developed a series of quirky superstitions to calm her nerves before take off. The actress admits she used to suffer minor panic attacks on flights and was forced to find ways to keep her cool on planes.

She says, "I have my little things that I do to prevent the fear from happening. I have superstitions about it - I have to call my mother before every flight (and) if I don't get her I'll miss it, I have to walk on the plane with my right foot first... I'll stop and adjust."

Cuthbert Almost Dies In New York Road Accident

Actress Elisha Cuthbert was almost killed during a recent visit to New York City, when she walked into oncoming traffic on a busy road without looking. The 24 star was hit by a car and thrown across the street and was convinced she was going to die.

Canadian Cuthbert says, "I almost got killed. We're walking along the street and I'm an idiot because the light turns green and a van screeches (to a halt). I walked past the van and realized, 'Oh my God, I'm in the middle of an intersection and they've got a green light and I decided to cross.' As soon as I pass the van, a Mercedes Benz is about to clip me in the knees, and I'm like, 'I'm about to die.'

"So all of a sudden you freeze and think to yourself, `Can I outrun it? No. Am I going to break my legs? Probably.' And what do I do? This is so cool of me because you realize the kind of person you are. I leaped up onto the car and I bounced and I flew all the way across the intersection. And I land right on my butt in the middle of the intersection. 'Am I dead? No I'm not dead. Do I have any bones broken? No. Purse still intact.'"

Elisha Cuthbert Desires Superhero Role

Actress Elisha Cuthbert is desperate to star in a big screen superhero film - despite her consistent lack of success to date. The 24 star has auditioned to play Mary Jane in Spider-Man, Lois Lane in Superman and Susan Storm in Fantastic Four, but missed out every time.

Despite the rejection, the ambitious actress is setting her sights even higher.

She says, "I wanna be in a superhero movie - I think I'm tough enough to do it! If I said I didn't want those roles I'd be lying, but if I let every missed role bother me I'd be in an insane asylum!

"I'm so competitive in that respect. But hopefully something will come along that has more aggression, more edge, than the typical comic-book damsel in distress."

Elisha Cuthbert Breaks Up With Hockey Beau

Elisha Cuthbert has split from her ice hockey player boyfriend Sean Avery, according to media reports. The couple started dating in 2005 after the blonde actress ended her engagement to Trace Ayala - best friend and business partner of Justin Timberlake.

Friends of the couple tell OK! magazine that Cuthbert ended the relationship several weeks ago.

A pal says, "She's a serial monogamist, jumping from one relationship to another."

Paris Hilton Denies Lesbian Rumors

Socialite Paris Hilton has denied rumors she is a lesbian after kissing actress Elisha Cuthbert in a New York club.

According to US Magazine.com, Hilton and the 24 star were "all over each other and making out" at the Tenjune club.

But the hotel heiress denies reports she is homosexual. She says, "Elisha's like my sister. That's not true."
